Dr. Camille Hunter and the team at Coastal Geriatrics provide primary medical care and geriatric consultations to older adults in Santa Barbara and California’s Central Coast. We believe a geriatrician’s duty is to guide patients through the aging process with medical knowledge, humanity and empathy.
We help create multifaceted care plans for patients at every stage of health, and specialize in a variety of health issues that affect older adults, such as mild cognitive impairment, dementia, falls, and frailty.
We are passionate about honest and caring communication which involves mutual trust and respect with patients and families.
Our goal is to optimize wellness, function, independence, and the dignity of each patient while providing exceptional geriatric medical care to the Santa Barbara community.
Geriatrics is the branch of medicine specializing in care for older adults. It focuses on patient health and wellness, as well as the management of conditions affecting the aging population. The geriatric medical field has a specific emphasis on whole-person care and aims to optimize independence and quality of life.
The field of geriatrics is dedicated to serving the unique needs of older adults. Many health professionals receive little to no training on how to effectively manage the complex care of our seniors. Geriatricians typically spend more time with each patient and help patients and families navigate many age-related issues. They can improve patient and family satisfaction, patient function and independence, and overall quality of life.
